Yes, Schedule Time in the Day to be by Yourself & Think
Building a successful business means giving your big ideas room to breathe. But when you’re not allowing time and space for your ideas to take root, they’re never going to flourish.
That’s why intentionally scheduling time in your day to be by yourself and think about the strategic direction of your business is so important.
The Day That Got Away
It’s a tale as old as time. Your 30-minute call runs to 60. An urgent alert comes in from an important client. An employee calls in with a crisis and needs you to step in. Before you know it, it’s 6pm and you haven’t tackled even one thing on our day’s priority list.
Fortunately, there is a solution to managing some of these unexpected and often unwelcomed interruptions.
Drumroll, please….
Put a big ‘ol X on your calendar and block 20 percent of your day.
Now, this might sound counterintuitive. How can you do more if you’re blocking time? But the thing is, stuff always comes up and it will inevitably eat into some of your blocked time.
When it doesn’t? Good news, you now have more time to dedicate to your business – this might mean learning a new skill, taking a professional development course, spending time making connections within your industry, or generally focusing on your business while maintaining a healthy work/life balance.
Give it a try. You might be surprised by how much more you can do with less.
